The Terra Madre Conference

Terra Madre is an international network of food producers, cooks, educators and students from 150 countries who are united by a common goal of global sustainability in food. The "food communities" of Terra Madre come together biennially to share innovative solutions and time-honored traditions for keeping small-scale agriculture and sustainable food production alive and well.

WHEN: The fourth edition of the Terra Madre conference will be October 21-25, 2010. We are now accepting applications.

WHERE: Torino, Italy

HOW: You must apply to be a delegate. This year the application will be in 2 parts: one is a short form to be completed online, the other is a supplement to be sent in via regular mail. Details can be found by clicking here.

WHAT: Terra Madre is an international conference that gathers sustainable food producers, farmers, cooks, educators and activists from around the world to connect and share their stories and traditions, as well as their innovative solutions for keeping small-scale agriculture and sustainable food production alive and well. Delegates come from over 150 countries.

The Salone del Gusto - the world's largest artisanal food marketplace - is held concurrently, in part for delegates to gain a deeper sense of how small-scale sustainable producers can market their products effectively.
