Big Win for Oceans: Court Strikes Down Unlawful Federal Action on Industrial Fish Farming!

Yesterday afternoon, the U.S. Federal Court for the Western District of Washington ruled that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ approval of a permit for industrial fish farming in federal ocean waters was unlawful. The court found that this permit, known as Nationwide Permit 56 (NWP 56), violated key environmental laws, including the National Environmental Policy Act, the Rivers and Harbors Act, and the Administrative Procedure Act.
