(Translation: Greetings, everyone. My Anishinaabe name is Blue Bird, and my given name is Bronson Herman. I belong to the Wolf Clan and come from Detroit.)

Bronson Herman is a proud Michigander who resides in Waawiyaatanong (“where the curved shores meet”) Metro Detroit. Prior to his work at NAMA, he served as the Survivor Outreach Services Manager with Waganakising Odawa (Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians) assisting relatives experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, harassment, dating violence and elder abuse.

Throughout the Great Lakes region, Bronson has facilitated initiatives on intergenerational healing, promoting mino-bimaadiziwin ("the good life"), and empowering Indian boarding school survivors and descendants. Previously, he worked in immigration law, disability law, and civil litigation, provided support services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and advocated for crime victims throughout Metro Detroit.

Bronson is a proponent of the power of international education, second language acquisition, and cross-cultural exchange, and he is a conscientious traveler wherever he goes.
