This is unique cooking competition that highlights the importance of local seafood in restoring a healthy ocean ecosystem.
In this Iron-Chef inspired program, Chef John Lemoine, an award winning Sodexo chef will face off against Scott Kenyon, our very own chef from HealthAlliance Hospital for the title of the Sustainable Seafood Champion.

This Seafood Throwdown is a collaboration between Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance (NAMA), Health Care Without Harm’s Healthy Food in Healthcare Program (HCWH), Sodexo of New England, who are working together to steer the health care industry’s seafood buying habits towards sustainably and locally caught seafood. These organizations greatly value the social, environmental, and economic importance of our local fishing communities.

The Judges are:
Karen Masterson, Owner of Nourish Restaurant in Lexington MA.
Her Bio: Karen Masterson, along with her husband Kevin, is owner of Nourish Restaurant in Lexington, MA. She formerly owned and operated Big Fresh Café in Framingham, MA. She works with local farmers, fishermen and other small regional businesses to provide responsibly sourced food at respectful prices. She has served on the boards of Green America (formerly Coop America), Natick Community Organic Farm, and Sustainable Business Network of Greater Boston.  She currently is a Board Member of the Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance and R.I.A. House.
