We do hope you can join us for our annual celebration featuring a time-tested menu of traditional Oyster Stew, homemade Cornbread and fresh baked Apple Pie topped with delicious Adamsville Cheddar Cheese. Reservations for the dinner are $15 per person and can be made by mailing in the number of people in your party and your check made payable, to the WFA at PO Box 83 Westport Point MA 02791. This is a ticketless event, your name will be on a reservation list at the door when you arrive. Reservations must be made in advance and received by February 10th, 2012.

The annual meeting portion of the evening is free and open to the public and is scheduled to begin just after the supper around 7:30. This years guest speaker will be Niaz Dorry. She is an advocate for oceans and fisheries. After spending eleven years with Greenpeace she went on to working on advancing the rights and ecological benefits of the small scale fishing communities as a means of protecting global marine biodiversity independently. Time magazine named Niaz as a Hero For The Planet for this work. Plan to join us for what is sure to be an informative and passionate discussion on promoting eco based fishery management strategies in an effort to ensure future generation’s access to these resources. Come and hear of her experiences helping to create diversity in small fishing fleets, and ways in which to promote sustainable community based small boat fisheries. You will not want to miss this talk.
